Older saves no longer work!
This update has focused on updating the underlying market simulation, which means a lot of balancing is needed to get the game back to a playable state. I would love to get feedback on progression and balancing issues regarding sales and reputation.
Changes:
- Software can now be split between categories, like phone, console and PC operating systems (This breaks all mods, I will update the modding wiki soon)
- Instead of an overall reputation meter you now have business reputation, fans and market recognition. Market recognition is split between software categories and controls your ability to sell products
- Sales are now calculated per unit, instead of just in cashflow, which means user retention and active users are tracked
- You can set the price of your product, currently it cannot be changed after it has been chosen, this will change in a future update
- You can have more than 1 team per project and per room
- Pre-marketing now adds software hype, which makes people hold out on buying current software to buy the hyped products instead
- You can prioritize work, by changing it's priority between 1 and 10. The priority number signifies how many extra cycles the employees will work on each work item
- Added 90s computer and laptop
- All computers can now have extra add-ons such as phones or drawing tablets, which add a boost depending on the type of work the employee is doing
- You can rename software while it's in development
- Sales vary during the year with more sales around December
- Various performance optimizations, and fixes for bugged optimizations, such as furniture material batching
- Clouds fade in close proximity to camera to avoid occluding the view
- Upgraded main menu picture taking tool
- Upgraded ambient occlusion and added Screen Space Reflections(Makes my Geforce GTX 980 Ti struggle with SSAA enabled, so beware)
- All sorts of usability fixes and tweening
