Recently, I have still been continuing development on The Apocalypse.
Compared with the earlier stage, when I was constantly building new features and systems, the main focus now is to make the modules that have already been completed run more stably, while further improving the connections between them.
When a large number of systems such as gathering, building, combat, AI, electricity, water systems, farming, and multiplayer all exist at the same time, the key question is whether they can work together and form a stable, natural survival experience. I am currently continuing to improve these core elements. Electricity, water, and fluid systems remain important development focuses in the near term. Players can build their own energy systems through generators, solar panels, wind turbines, and other equipment, and manage various facilities in their bases using batteries, wires, distribution devices, and more. The water system is also continuing to expand, including water storage, water supply, drinking water, agricultural irrigation, and other related content.
During gameplay, players will need to consider how to obtain resources, how to keep their base running, and how to plan their own survival space. The farming system is also continuing to improve. The basic process of planting, growth, and harvesting has already been implemented, and I am continuing to optimize related content such as seeds, crops, water resources, and data saving.
At the same time, servers, world loading, and data synchronization remain areas where I am investing a great deal of time. An open-world survival game needs to save a large amount of information: buildings constructed by players, stored supplies, growing crops, running equipment, and various states within the world. All of this needs to remain stable during server restarts, multiplayer sessions, and across different network environments. Because of this, I have been continuing to optimize these systems. This kind of work is not as easy to show as new weapons or new maps, but it determines whether the game will be able to support a longer-lasting and larger-scale survival experience in the future.
In addition to improving the systems, I am also continuing to expand the game’s content. Next, I will continue working on more open-world areas, creatures and AI behaviors, weapons and equipment, vehicles, building components, and crafting and manufacturing. At the same time, character animations, combat feedback, equipment presentation, and other elements are also being continuously adjusted.
At present, the core gameplay framework of The Apocalypse has gradually been established: the main loops such as gathering, survival, searching, building, combat, AI, and base management have largely been connected, but there are still many details that need to be further improved before it reaches the version I hope to present to players. Next, I will continue optimizing system stability, expanding more content, and improving the overall experience.
Independent game development is a long-term process. Much of the important work will not immediately appear in screenshots or videos, but it determines how far the game can go in the future.
Thank you all for your continued attention and patience.
I will keep working hard to make the world of The Apocalypse more complete, step by step.
