Program Team
The team continues the works mentioned in the previous diary: new game engine integration, the combat system and the game UI improvement.
1. New game engine on new client – in progress
- Rendering improvements: the engine has various features to improve the graphic quality. Today we are going to show you the metals: Metals will look more metal; a metallic object will be rendered in real-time, depending on the environment (i.e. the color of lights and the intensity)
2. New combat system – in progress
- Logics for the improved combat masteries: as Tactics and the weapon masteries are being improved, the logics should be modified. Sorry, no images; they are lines of codes :(
3. New NPC implementation – in progress
– NPC scheduling: Logics for each NPC’s visit/wandering. The NPCs will visit your guild on a specific date or wander in some areas; they will give you quests or sell some special goods. Some NPC has special features.
4. New game UI implementation – in progress
– We are trying to divide the game UI (view) and the code (logic), so as to give you better UI experience and make the game play more comfortable.
– The logic (code) is almost done, but the developers should put the view on the code. As the UI features were integrated into the code, the programmers are separating the UI from the code.
5. Diary system – Completed
– Diary system has been done: the logic/code are ready, and the developers are going to put the UI components on the system.
Art Team
The team is working with concept art, 3d modeling, terrains, UI and animations. They are re-making the world terrains with the new terrain tool; the artists are creating new items, too.
1. Terrain
– The current terrains are being improved on the new game engine, adding some interesting areas.
2. Concept art
– new advanced amours, Owl Post
3. Animation
– animation work for the new NPC
(Sorry! The GIF has been resized, because of the size)
4. 3D Modelling
– 2D image becomes a 3D armour!
5. UI
– The UI overview has been completed; the artist cuts it into pieces, so that the developers can put them onto the game UI
The team will be working hard! You can expect the next feedback.
Game design team
The team is focusing on the area division and remaking the old systems.
1. Area division for Peace and Outlaw areas – completed
- The World has been divided into the Peace and the Outlaw areas, and the difficulties are set for each area. The seaside/coastal areas are safe and PvE-able; the core areas are dangerous, tough and PvP-able: high risk, high return, you know. The details are little secret at this moment : )
2. Post/Delivery systems – in progress
– Post: When you build a simple structure (a Post box), you can send a mail or a gift to your friends. Apollo the owl will deliver them for you.
- Shop and Delivery: you will not have to take a long walk to a shop for shopping. Plus we are planning to improve the shop system: changing the commissions/fees
3. Damage notation improvement – Completed
– The notation rules for damage dealt/taken have been set. With the colors, the size of numbers/text, effects (eg. rotating, shaking) you will clearly see what kind of attacks is successfully dealt or taken by enemies. This feature will be implemented when the programmers develop the UI features.
4. Game balance adjustment – in progress
– By adjusting some factors/values, you will raise your character with more fun but no stress. Plus we are setting the difficulty of a monster, so that you will choose where to go and hunt. We are thinking about time and labor power balance: “How long it takes to reach at Lv 50”, “How long it take to achieve something, and what to do for the achievement”, etc.
– We are trying to make a good balance: not too hard, not too easy.
5. Guide/Quest system – in progress
– Quest system: We are researching and planning to create quests; the quests will be fun: no typical grindy meaningless quests.
– Guide system: with the system, you will learn how to raise your character and what to level up a certain mastery; the NPCs give you a good advice and quest for a help.
The team is going to focus on improvements for the existing systems/contents, rather than creating new stuff.
