Ok, let’s take a look.

Q1. I found some changes in PTR. I expected a big update, but it was very disappointing, because there are only minor changes like bug fix and starvation. In the previous feedbacks you told us about the new combat system. Where is the new system, and why is it delayed?
- From the official forum and a fansite
A1. We are very sorry about the delay.
The new combat system is one of the most essential features, thus it takes time and effort to build up the foundations. To make ToL a great game, we believe we must make a good base first and add more features later. We are now working on the substructure.
Meanwhile the developers have been working on a new engine with upgraded Shader, Lighting, Physics and Voxel technology. The engine will make ToL a 2017ish game, unlike the current version. As this also takes huge effort, the old plan was to re-define the combat system first and to introduce the new engine later.
However, the engine development is going smoothly and could be complete sooner than expected. Once the new engine is introduced, the combat system will be renewed again. This is a matter of efficiency, because the developers will work almost the same works twice in a relatively short period: the new combat system renewal now, and the renewal again after the engine is introduced; which takes longer and more effort. Thus, the schedule has been adjusted to put them together.
After the engine is finished, the new combat system will be added to the game. So the new combat system will be introduced in the spring 2017. I am going to tell you more about the new engine later. When the engine is complete, you can meet new ToL.

Q2. My character was suddenly dead while I was talking to my friends. I thought it was a bug, but it was actually starvation: HP is slowly dropped when the character is hungry. It is obvious you would die if you don’t eat, but the starvation was quite confusing.
- From the ToL Steam community
A2. After the PTR update, your character will be starving and dead, if you forget to eat. Before you wouldn’t die of starvation, but getting slow; this is bit inconvenient, which we don’t really want. Plus, it makes sense that you would die if you don’t eat.
As you tell us, it is hard to see that your character would die of starvation: no sign or notice, thus you hardly feel the danger. Animation and effects will be added to tell you about the starvation.

Q3. I read the patch note and found the grades of the lights are set to Normal. A good point is that I can craft a white grade Torch with Crude ingredients, but that’s it. This means I cannot make a higher grade Torch or Lantern with Rare/Mystic ingredients, thus my Tinkering will be useless. Actually Tinkering is one of the hardest Masteries to level up. If the PTR version were updated on the live server, no one would master Tinkering. Please give us the old lights back and improve the Mastery.
- From the official forum and a fansite
A3. To be honest, this change is not really intended. As the Crude Torch/Lanterns were not stackable, we want that the system guarantees a Normal grade regardless of the quality of the ingredients. But this makes a new issue that you only craft the white grade even if you put Rare/Mystic ingredients.
This change will be rolled back, and you can craft the higher grades. Of course, the Crude items will be stackable, too.
Regarding the mastery of Tinkering, I will be considering the improvement.

Q4. I read the notice for the Christmas patch. Is the patch for a Christmas event like the Halloween’s? Or is it to import the PTR version into the live server?
- From the ToL Steam community
A4. This live patch makes you feel Christmas in ToL, and that’s all. The PTR version will be introduced on the live server after the test. By now, you can see the changes for the Christmas time.
In PTR, we will have the balance and the contents patches for a test purpose. Once the new version is tested, then we are going to update the live server.

Q5. The pic of the day: Alice’s choice
Lots of nice screenshots are on the Steam community! Let’s take a look. +_+
