Hey penguins! 🐧
A new patch for First Catch is live!
This update introduces proximity voice chat powered by Discord, increases lobby sizes, adds new player status indicators, and brings several improvements to the multiplayer experience. Here’s what’s new:
Major Addition: Discord Voice Chat
Discord-powered voice chat has been added to the game!
You can now talk to nearby penguins using proximity voice chat. You don’t need to add other players as Discord friends. As long as Discord is running in the background and connected to the game, you’re ready to chat!
New voice chat options have also been added to the Settings menu, allowing you to adjust your microphone, speaker volume, mute settings, and more.
Additions & Improvements
Added player status icons that show when a player is:
Paused and protected from being slapped
Typing a message
Speaking through voice chat
Added Discord Rich Presence support.
Increased the maximum number of players in a lobby from 8 to 12.
Added localization support for the new voice chat settings.
Fixes
Fixed the lobby list slider in the Join Game menu.
Thanks again for all your feedback and support! ❤️
Gather your penguin crew, jump into a 12-player lobby, and try out the new proximity voice chat. If you encounter any issues, please let us know so we can keep improving First Catch!
And don’t forget to wishlist the full game, which will feature many more exciting additions like this! 🐧❤️
