Hey everyone 👋
We’ve just pushed a new demo update. This update focuses on improving core systems, fixing long-standing issues, and adding new content to make surviving the maze smoother, deadlier, and a little stranger.
Several systems have been fully reworked, multiple creatures rebalanced, and there are a few surprises waiting for those who dig a little deeper.
We’re planning to participate in Steam Next Fest in February 2026. After the festival ends, the demo will be taken down so we can focus fully on polishing and preparing the game for release.
⚠️ Important note: this update is not compatible with old saves, so a fresh start is required.
🛠️ Gameplay & Systems
🎒 Inventory & Holster
You can now carry up to 3 items in your holster.
Picking up an item with a full holster replaces the item in your hand.
Fixed multiple holster bugs, including:
Equipping weapons while interacting with the cart.
Cart interactions allowing unintended weapon equips.
You now drop your equipped item on death.
🛒 Cart & Movement
You can now ride inside the cart while other players push it. ⚠️ This feature is still experimental — expect some jittering or cart flipping.
Fixed an issue where having your wheel stolen prevented stationary mode (which blocked wheel crafting).
Fixed a bug where velocity persisted after respawn, causing players to be pushed unexpectedly.
🎮 Controls & Accessibility
You can now rebind keyboard and controller inputs.
Bow aiming updated: aim, press to shoot, or release to cancel.
Added Resolution Upscaling (DLSS, FSR, XeSS).
🔨 Crafting System (Revamp)
The crafting system has been fully reworked:
Place all materials inside the cart.
Interacting with the cart’s crafting table opens the Crafting Book.
The book:
Shows what you can and cannot craft.
Allows you to craft exactly what you want with one click.
Clearly tells you which materials are missing if something is not craftable.
👹 Creatures & AI
Balance & Drops
Lowered Doe HP.
Does and Stags now have better drop chances.
Headless now has a higher chance to drop their special item.
Reduced the overall number of boars.
AI Improvements & Fixes
Improved Boar AI.
Fixed Stags randomly attacking without provocation.
Fixed Jeff’s jittery movement.
Skinweaver and Mamaboar now reset health when disengaged.
Improved ragdoll deaths for several monsters.
Improved visual despawn effects for all creatures.
🧟 New & Special Content
New Monster Added: False Face
Waystones Added:
Waystones appear near the spawn area.
Approaching them forms a portal.
Portals transport you to the corresponding Waystone inside the maze.
New Veilberries Added
Poison removed from Blueberries.
Veilberries introduced as a new variant.
Jeff now does something… special upon death.
If you’re playing with friends and die at night, things may look a little strange.
Enjoy.
🏆 Achievements
Added 16 Steam Achievements to the demo.
🐛 Fixes & Stability
Fixed all known memory leaks.
Fixed a client bug where players could fall through the ground and endlessly respawn-die.
As always, thank you for playing, testing, and sharing feedback. Every report, clip, and message helps us identify what works, what doesn’t, and where the game should go next. Your input genuinely shapes the future of the maze.
