Time for our first update!!
Hey everyone!
Time for our very first update — and we’re excited to finally share some behind-the-scenes progress with you all! From now on, we’ll be posting more regularly to keep you in the loop with what’s cooking over at the Fire Foot offices.
Please keep in mind: everything you see here is still a work-in-progress and might change by the time we launch!
Map Design / Layout
Level design is a huge part of what makes our game tick, and we've been pouring a lot of time into building a map that’s not just functional — but also fun and full of variety.
Think creepy corridors, mysterious rooms, and hidden nooks waiting to be explored. Here's a little peek at some of the areas we've been crafting!
Puzzles
To shake up the core gameplay, we’ve been experimenting with light puzzle mechanics — adding a fresh twist without slowing things down.
Right now, they're still floating in a gloomy gray box world, but eventually, you'll find them cleverly tucked away inside the cursed castle...
A stepping sequence puzzle!
A 'put these glowing stone objects in the right order' puzzle!
Skill games
We call them "skill games," but you can think of them as fast-paced, mini lockpicking challenges. These little trials keep things tense and test your reflexes in short bursts.
Quick time event - Nail the timing to unlock!
Follow the zone - Stay in the sweet spot!
Right order - Hit the correct sequence to succeed!
Lobby chat & Steam setup
We've also been making progress on multiplayer features! That means:
Inviting Steam friends easily
Chatting with them in the lobby
Getting into matches together - fast and smooth
We're aiming to make playing with friends feel effortless.
Thanks for reading - and thanks for being here with us at the beginning of this journey. We can’t wait to show you more soon. If you have any questions or ideas, drop them in the comments - we’d love to hear from you!
