Hi guys, I hope you are all well!
I. DEMO NEWS
Playtests of the demo version will begin in April, and the demo will be available for the Steam Next Fest in October (if all goes well, but I'm confident it will!) - just join the Discord https://discord.gg/2s2sWGVt or comment this post if you'd like to participate
Several changes to the demo's format:
I initially wanted to create a dedicated story for the demo. This story has been written, but it's far too time-consuming to integrate everything, and too complicated to organize since I'm a solo developer.
The demo will therefore be a condensed version of the beginning of the main story. I'm making sure this beginning doesn't feel like a tutorial by quickly getting to the heart of the matter.
The story that was written for the demo will be integrated later and will be released at or after the final release.
II. GAMEPLAY LOOP & NARRATIVE DESIGN ENHANCEMENTS
Your loyalty to the Empire is central to the narrative design. You will encounter numerous situations whose outcome will depend on your loyalty score and mission success or failure. Early in the game, seemingly insignificant choices can later prove crucial.
Each situation will feature a complete gameplay loop, seamlessly integrated into the story.
Social Posturing: Manage your status through dialogue and behavior.
The Pivot: Choose to conform or risk a Subversive Action.
The Mission: Investigate, hack, or act based on your choice.
Systemic Resolution: Accept the consequences. Success or failure depends on how you navigated the previous steps.
High Risk, High Reward: Subversion often yields deeper secrets and better rewards, but the Empire is always watching. Every risk has a price. Will you pay it?
III. OTHER VARIOUS UPDATES
Many new details have been added, including lore, graphics, and performance optimization.
More lore, in the form of text, posters, videos on in-game screens
Improved dialogue and new optional dialogue
Much more stable launch: smoother loading
Better UI and UI management
Map boundaries are now well integrated
Some draft areas have been completed
etc.
IV. TWO IMPORTANT POINTS ABOUT SOUND
The sound design has progressed, but there's still a lot of work about integration for a professional result
The voice acting hasn't progressed much, but it's still planned - A huge thank you to all the voice actors who have participated so far!
Thanks so much for your support, and I hope you'll enjoy the demo!
