Questions about the art:
How did the design of Groovy come about? What references or inspirations were key in shaping it?
His design is the result of an extensive search for references, followed by a creative process. We were mainly inspired by the retro-futuristic groovy style shown in the Space Groove series of League of Legends, cat figures, and many other cartoon characters with exaggerated proportions and carefree features.
What did we want to convey with his silhouette and facial expression? What does his appearance say about his personality?
His silhouette is based on rounded, soft shapes that reflect his carefree, friendly, and somewhat mischievous personality. The same is true of his facial expression, which is simple but representative of a playful and determined attitude.
How did his design evolve from the first sketches to the final look we see in the game?
Groovy's design went through several stages. Initially, various silhouettes were proposed for her figure: some tall and slender, others stocky and burly, etc. We ended up opting for the current one, which is flat with gentle, exaggerated curves. Then we moved on to choosing his clothes, at which point we came up with his special boots and gloves, as well as his jacket and belt.

Were there any discarded ideas or alternative versions of Groovy during the design process?
Of course, in addition to other versions with different colors, different clothes and accessories were also proposed for him. Did you know that there were versions of Groovy that wore a backpack, hat, or fanny pack?

How important is the “groovy” aesthetic in his design? How does it integrate with the world and levels of the game?
Thanks to the groovy aesthetic, our cartoonish hero is born, with a retro-space style full of color, rhythm, and humor. That's why he has a relaxed, confident, and somewhat mischievous attitude. This aesthetic is also reflected in the settings, which are full of vibrant, contrasting colors and sharp contours, as well as various posters and graffiti with a fun vibe.
Questions about the narrative:
Who is Groovy in the Groovity universe? What is his background or story prior to the events of the game?
Groovy's race is commonly known for excelling at anything related to numbers, and they are very adept at solving any type of equation presented to them. Our protagonist aspired to work as a great inventor to make life easier and solve problems for everyone, which is why entering NeoCosmos was his main goal.
What motivates Groovy to rebel against NeoCosmos Corp? Is he an accidental hero, or did he have a plan from the start?
Groovy feels compelled to rebel against NeoCosmos when he finds himself trapped in a monotonous routine of creating useless gadgets, artifacts of little use, and bland trinkets that bring him no satisfaction. Added to this is the frustration of seeing how neither he nor his fellow Miuri assistants received due recognition for the countless hours they dedicated to the company's projects. So the best way to get revenge was to use his own project against them.
What sets him apart from other platform protagonists? Why connect with him as a player?
Groovy is not a hero. Groovy seeks to rebel with mischief and in the most daring way just for the pleasure of causing trouble and creating chaos in the most diligent and meticulous company in the galaxy. You don't have to be a hero to rebel, sometimes you just have to be a little mischievous.
How is his personality reflected in the gameplay? Is the gravity system related to how he sees the world?
His roguish expression and the confidence with which he is able to overcome all the obstacles that come his way make him a well-rounded design. His ability to change his axis of gravity is thanks to the theft of NeoCosmos' most “innovative” project, a pair of zero-gravity boots exclusively for use at the opening of the coolest nightclub in the galaxy.
What is the relationship between Groovy and his companions? What drives him to rescue them?
The Miuris are Groovy's lab assistants, and they are excellent at supporting and assisting in any project. However, they do not stand out for being the most skilled or strongest, so they are commonly overlooked in the company's dynamics. For this reason, Groovy feels the need to get them out of there so that the rest of the world can appreciate their true potential.
