Welcome skyward adventurers!
Come along through a journey through our art
We're thrilled to pull back the curtain and share a visual journey through the development of Skyfire: Death From Above, showcasing the significant strides we've made in bringing our world to life. Our team has poured their passion into every detail, from initial concepts to the final dressing of our levels, ensuring a truly immersive and visually stunning experience.
Level 1: The Cloudveil Mountains
The player's journey begins amidst the majestic Cloudveil Mountains, where the Restoration fleet's first scouts have been deployed. This level sets the tone for the epic scale of Skyfire, a testament to the imposing presence of the Restoration army.
We began by exploring various concept art iterations to capture the grandeur and natural beauty of these formidable mountains. Our goal was to create an environment that felt both awe-inspiring and foreboding.

As you can see, we moved from the foundational shapes of the level blockout to meticulously dressing the environment with detailed elements, truly bringing the Cloudveil Mountains to life.
Level 2: Fallen Factory
From the expansive outdoors, players will descend into the heart of the Restoration army's operations: the Fallen Factory. This is their most valuable and heavily defended stronghold, and we've designed it to reflect that intensity.
Our art direction for this level focused on creating a sense of claustrophobia and danger. We aimed for enclosed spaces with aggressive lighting and a strong emphasis on mechanical elements.

The transition from concept to the final, dressed level in the Fallen Factory is dramatic. We've layered in intricate details, from the glow of active machinery to the grime and wear of a working industrial complex. Our design objective for this level was to combine all enemy types, creating the most challenging encounter before the final act.
Level 3: Eye of the Storm
Victorious from the crumbling factory, your castle escapes into the open sky for a final, climactic confrontation. In the Eye of the Storm, the only remaining enemy is another formidable flying castle, allied with the Restoration.
This level is a visual contrast to the claustrophobic factory. Here, the skies are seen in all their expanse, providing a breathtaking backdrop for the ultimate showdown.

The final dressed level showcases the intricate details of the battling castles along with the atmospheric effects. This level is designed to be the ultimate challenge, culminating in a thrilling final boss battle.
