Greetings rangers,
As the first playtest draws near, let’s take a moment and get into how games progress in Galaxy Tactics.
Each game is composed of a number of rounds, which play out until one of the teams is declared victorious. In turn, every round is composed of 3 phases:

1. Move and Fire
This phase takes the first 10 seconds of every round. During this time, players may move by walking or using their jetpacks for the first 8 seconds. Also during this phase, players can select a weapon, aim and lock in (fire).
In this phase players usually move around the map to get into a better firing position, take cover from possible enemy attacks, or get out of a perilous situation.
2. Fire Only
After the Move and Fire phase has ended, the Fire Only phase begins, where players can only select weapons, aim and lock in (fire). This phase can last a maximum of 20 seconds, but will end early once all players have either locked in or skipped.
It is highly recommended that teammates coordinate their shots, and check what weapons their allies will use based on the icons above the health bars. Players may also use the targeting feature to indicate where they intend to fire.
In both the Move and Fire and Fire Only phases, if a player does not wish to fire, they can simply skip the round.
3. Action
Once the Fire Only phase ends, the Action phase begins, and all locked in weapons are fired. This phase lasts until there is no more movement (action) on the map. In case of unexpected events which would keep the Action phase alive, it will end forcefully after 25 seconds.
After the Action phase ends, and after a brief pause, a new round begins with the Move and Fire phase.
Nuke
If a game reaches 15 minutes, a Nuke will be triggered which deals damage to all players each round, forcing the game to come to an end after a few rounds.
Draws
One of the teams is declared victorious once all opponents are eliminated. As draws are not allowed in Galaxy Tactics, if the last players on both teams are eliminated in the same round, a winner is declared based on total team damage or weapons accuracy.
