Hi, everyone!
Toy Smash Kaboom! is launching in just two weeks!
In today’s post, we’re sharing a small sneak peek into the story behind the game!
Fred and His Toy Room
TL;DR: Every single one of these wacky toys? Yup, Fred's! This kiddo really has a habit of collecting all kinds of quirky toys in his room: some were gifts he received, while others were handcrafted by Fred himself.
In the full release, the game will introduce Fred's Diary, presented as a Pop-Up Book. By meeting certain conditions, you’ll unlock the stories hidden behind each toy.
For example, the seemingly ordinary Puppet is actually the very first toy Fred made with his own hands:
And the giant Fang Crocodile saw one of Fred’s proudest moments at school:
Each time you unlock a memory, you’ll also receive a small film sticker.
These stickers allow you to uncover the unknown side of each Hero, unlocking their exclusive skin, as well as new table and scene looks.
You might also be wondering: if the toys were Fred’s childhood treasures… then what role do the four Heroes play?
Many secrets still lie hidden within this Pop-Up Diary! Win more matches and uncover the storys between Fred and the Heroes!
And, Fred’s story won’t just end in version 1.0. More toys will be added in future updates, gradually revealing the complete picture of the tale!
Hand-Drawn Illustrations!
We’ve also created illustrations for the toy stories in the Pop-Up Diary. We hope that opening its pages reveals a warm and heartfelt cartoon world:
Each entry in the Pop-Up Diary unlocks a unique piece of hand-drawn art. As you progress, Fred’s Diary will grow richer both in text and visuals!
That’s all for today’s sneak peek!
By the way, Toy Smash Kaboom! is part of the WePlay Expo 2025 event on Steam, and our demo is still available. Give it a try!
