Steam Next Fest kicks off June 15–22, starting at 10am Pacific Time. We're excited to announce that Chained Beasts will be joining the festivities with our recently updated demo.
If you've been waiting for the perfect excuse to grab some friends and jump into the arena, this is the best time ahead of our upcoming launch to do so!
The Demo Just Got Bigger and Bloodier
We've recently released our biggest demo update yet, bringing a batch of new characters for you to play as, enemies to crush, innovative new weapons and a plethora of new ways to suffer through our afflictions system.
🔪 Execute Your Enemies
Downed foes can now be finished off with brutal executions. End a fight with style and earn the crowd's approval.
🦏 Two New Beasts Enter the Arena
The Rhino and Ibex charge into battle alongside a complete rework of our existing beasts. Level up your favourite beast, earn XP, and unlock powerful new variants.
🏹 The Bow Arrives
A devastating new ranged weapon has entered the arena. Pick off enemies from afar or turn your friends into accidental pincushions.
🦵 Dismemberment
Why stop at defeating your enemies when you can weaponise them? Rip off limbs, grab severed heads, and throw them at the next poor soul unfortunate enough to cross your path.
⚔️ New Enemy Types
The arena just got more dangerous.
Archers pepper you with arrows from a distance.
Wrestlers pin gladiators to the ground until a teammate rescues them.
Defensive Swordsmen strike while hiding safely behind their shields.
🗣️ Twitch Integration
Give your viewers control over your suffering. Chat can now vote on which affliction potion you'll be forced to drink between rounds.
💪 New Skills
Grow your strength between battles with new upgrade options that let you shape your gladiator's build run after run.
🤕 More Afflictions
Even more terrible bargains await. Trade health for increasingly ridiculous drawbacks and work together to overcome missing toes, impaired vision, and other gruesome inconveniences.
💀 Four Difficulty Levels
Whether you're a fresh recruit or a hardened arena champion, choose the challenge that best suits your crew:
Pleb • Legionnaire • Centurion • Hades
🍎 MacOS Support
Gladiators of the Mac persuasion can now join the bloodshed!
Fall 2026 Is Fast Approaching
If you missed it, we recently revealed that Chained Beasts launches in Fall 2026 alongside a brand-new release window trailer.
The arena gates are almost ready to open.
Grab Three Friends and Join the Fight
Chained Beasts is a 1–4 player co-op gladiator roguelike where you're literally chained together. Swing your chains, smash enemies into arena hazards, survive brutal afflictions, and battle your way through chaotic crowd-pleasing combat.
With Steam Next Fest just around the corner, we'd love for you to jump into the demo, round up three friends, and see how long you can survive waves of enemies in the arena!
