Demo improvements
I've been hard at work improving the 9 Trials of Whiskers demo and setting up the foundation for an awesome speedrunning experience. Here’s what’s been added so far:
🔥 Leaderboards & Ghosts (Now Live in Demo!)
- Leaderboards and ghosts now dynamically save and load based on the active game version.
- This system also prepares for future Trial Mode options in the full game!
New Trial Selection Feature
🏆 New Individual Trial Mode (0.1.1 Update)
- You can now play any individual Trial instead of running all 9 at once!
- Think you have the fastest start in Trial 1? Prove it!
- Want to master a tough section like Trial 8? Now you can practice it!
🔹 Trial Options Available Now:
- Full game (9 Trials of Whiskers)
- Demo version (First 5 Trials)
- Any individual Trial (1-9)
- Each mode has its own separate leaderboards & ghosts, making it easy to track your best times.
Others
🎮 New Debug Mode for Faster Testing
- A debug mode has been added to speed up development & testing.
- Debug mode allows flying and disables collision, making it easier to test new features.

Upcoming content
By the end of April 2025 I aim to complete the following:
🚀 Demo Release, Steam Wishlist & Marketing
- The demo will be released as soon as possible.
- The demo build will be submitted for approval soon, which typically takes 3-5 days.
- Once approved, the earliest possible release date will be 14 days after approval, as required by Steam.
- Trailers, gameplay videos, and social media content (YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, etc.) will follow to drive wishlists and community growth.
- Consistent short-form content (clips, dev logs, challenges) will be posted to create further growth.
🐞 Post-Demo Updates & Bug Fixes
- If many people play the demo, I expect new bugs and feature requests to emerge.
- I will allocate time to fix and improve the game based on feedback.
🎮 Controller support
- I’ll be testing full controller support once I get a controller, ensuring a smooth experience for all players.
🖥 System requirements testing
- I will explore virtual machines and performance benchmarks to determine recommended and minimum system requirements for 9 Trials of Whiskers.
🏅 Achievements for Steam
- Built in achievements in the game will be linked with Steam achievements.
