👁️ It’s Launch Day!
Hello everyone,
We’re thrilled (and a little bit terrified) to open the mansion doors and welcome you into Sophie’s world. It’s a place of shadows, secrets, and the fragile thread that binds two souls together. You’ll step into the paws of Teddy, Sophie’s guardian and only source of vision, in a horror experience that flips the rules of VR on their head.
Welcome to second-person VR, a unique perspective where you see the world through Teddy’s eyes, but guide Sophie as she navigates through it. You’ll sneak through the mansion, hide from danger, solve puzzles, and carry her through a world designed to keep her imprisoned.
🧸 Why Early Access?
From the start, our ambition has been to launch Out of Sight across both flatscreen and VR platforms. Developing for both simultaneously was an exciting challenge, but it naturally compressed our timeline for building fully native VR mechanics. That’s why we chose Early Access for the VR release - to give us space to expand and refine the experience with you.
The version you can play today features the entire story of Out of Sight, fully playable in room-scale VR. Testers have genuinely enjoyed the experience in its current state, and we’re proud of how immersive, intuitive, and emotional it already is. But we also know we’ve only scratched the surface of what second-person VR gameplay can become.
💬 Help Us Define What Second-Person VR Can Be
Second-person gameplay in VR is a bold new frontier. Very few games have attempted it, and Out of Sight VR is helping to define what it can look and feel like. Your feedback is essential.
We’re not asking the community to fix problems. We’re inviting you to help shape something new. How does it feel to be Teddy? What kinds of interactions make that connection stronger? How could puzzle design, movement, or tension evolve in this unique format?
We want to expand our playbook for second-person VR design, and we’d love for you to be part of that journey.

🔮 Looking Ahead
We plan to remain in Early Access through Q4 2025. During that time, we’ll be building on the current experience by adding:
- Improved third-person control for guiding Sophie
- Shorter transitions when picking up and setting down Teddy
- VR-specific interactions and tension-enhancing mechanics
- More immersive soundscapes
- Accessibility and comfort features
- Performance improvements for a smoother experience on more systems
The price will remain the same after Early Access, so players can join in now without waiting.
Thank you for supporting Out of Sight VR as we explore this new storytelling space together. We can’t wait to hear your stories, your scares, and your ideas.
Now go.
She’s waiting for you.
And she can’t see without you.
