We'd like to introduce an important character in "Back of Beyond" - the guide cat Lucy. She is not only the guide for the new town mayor, but also a key mysterious figure in Mist Town.
Lucy is one of the residents of Mist Town and a devoted follower of the "Alien God Religion." She appears as a white cat with blue eyes, wearing a red and blue dress that makes her look cute, yet she hides secrets unknown to others. In the game, she serves as a guide to help the new town mayor (the player) understand how Mist Town operates and what the eldritch gods demand.
When designing Lucy, we wanted to create a character who could both connect with players and convey the eerie atmosphere of the game. If you pay attention to Lucy's dialogue, you'll discover clues about Mist Town's past and her unusual relationship with the eldritch gods. Her backstory will gradually be revealed as the game progresses, and perhaps she isn't just a simple guide after all...
In our next development log, we'll share the evolution of the game's artistic style! If you're interested in "Back of Beyond," please add the game to your wishlist:
