Greetings Thieves,
I wanted to start by wishing you all a Happy New Year! I hope you were able to spend some time with your loved ones, and if you’re anything like me, I hope you managed to get some much-needed rest along the way.
Update 1.2 for Cloak And Coin is now live and officially marks the end of the 2025 Yuletide seasonal event.
As I mentioned in a prior update, my main focus at the moment is improving the overall stability of the game. This includes bug fixes and balance changes to ensure players get the best experience possible while playing.
That said, I also know that you avid thieves are always hungry for more content, so I’m proud to say that the first new Early Access contract is now available for you all to tackle.
New Contract - Jewels Of The Trade
A smaller, more stealth-focused heist set in the heart of Clock Wharf, loosely inspired by Victorian London, with suitably gloomy weather to match.
Your goal is to break into an old jewellery store and steal a set number of jewellery boxes (the exact amount varies depending on difficulty).
Alongside this new contract, I’ve added new display cases that house the jewellery box loot. These can be opened using your lockpicking skills, or more direct methods like Dynamite or Lock Melters.
I really enjoyed working on this contract, and I can’t wait to show you some of the other heists I’ve been working on once they’re ready.
Update 1.2 Patch Notes
Alongside the new contract, this update includes a number of balance changes (including some fairly major buffs) and bug fixes based directly on your feedback.
Gameplay:
Added the new Jewels of the Trade contract to the available contract pool and Contract Maker.
Added two new hat cosmetics to Gordon the Goblin’s Hat Emporium: Distinguished Stranger and Horsing Around.
Added two new achievements/titles tied to opening the new display cases found in the Jewels of the Trade contract: Trinket Rat and Jewelled Phantom
Greatly increased the stun duration of Shovels from 12 seconds to 30 seconds. My thought process here is that thieves seem to be avoiding stun-based equipment as it doesn’t feel impactful enough. I’m hoping this change makes shovels feel like a more viable option during contracts.
Greatly increased the stun duration of Flash Flasks from 8 seconds to 25 seconds.
Increased the cost of Shovels from 250 Team Funds to 300 Team Funds.
Reworked additional Civilian and Guard patrol paths on existing contracts to make stealthing a little easier overall.
Bug fixes:
Fixed an issue where players in single-player could get stuck in the Safe Cracking mini-game if they were arrested during it.
Fixed an issue where certain menus could become stuck on players’ screens.
Fixed an issue where some tutorial notifications would still appear despite being disabled in the Gameplay settings menu.
Fixed an issue where some doors and safes could be interacted with through walls.
As always, if you’d like to report bugs, share clips, or chat with me and other Thieves, you can join the community here.
Happy heisting,
