Welcome!
Today we bring you our first Steam dev log and our special edition summer dev log for Unmasked Truths: Shattered Dreams!
Now, let's jump into what we have been doing behind the scenes and what we have in store for you during August. 👇
During the last couple of months, the entire team has pulled together to tie up loose ends and complete our very first externally playable build in eager anticipation of our planned March 2026 release of arc 1! We’ve submitted the game to a ratings review board ahead of the public debut of a 15-minute demo, taking place from August 20-24 at Gamescom 2025 in Cologne, Germany, where we have reserved a 2-PC space.
At Gamescom, you will be able to:
Experience the opening cutscene,
Walk around the campus front garden and café, and
Play through fully voiced conversations between characters.
But don’t feel too left out if you can’t attend!
We also plan to make a version of this 15-minute demo available for free to the general public on itch.io in late September!
From updating the script and finishing the final voiceover recording session, to thumb nailing CGs, and height mapping, no stone has been left unturned!…
Explore hidden areas…
Relax in peaceful gardens
Who turned out the lights!?
That’s better!
It’s deeper than it looks
We’re still working on optimizations to make the game even more accessible!
… quite literally, when you consider team members have spent the last couple of weeks reworking every leaf, stone, and collider to ensure that the game is optimized to run as smoothly as possible, and players don’t accidentally fall into the watery void!
But those are just some of the day-to-day things that game devs deal with, especially when taking what was originally planned to be a 2D visual novel and fitting it to a 3D explorable world.
What better place to whisper secrets than in the library?
Height mapping takes a lot of time and energy…
… especially when working with so much detail!
The entire campus is brimming with details…
… all to create a decadent experience.
We love polygons!
It’s been a long 4 years, but the end is in sight as we see scenes that were once just a bullet point in an outline fleshing out into the world, and becoming real! We can’t wait to share the results of all our hard work with you. We hope that players will appreciate all the love and care that’s gone into every aspect of the game’s creation!
Every element is meticulously handcrafted by multiple people cooperating to ensure they both fit characters and build a seamless world.
Every item is arranged with care to create a world that feels real
We’ve also included more than a few fun easter eggs for players to find
We hope you have fun searching for them all!
We’ve also begun to test a series of work streams with the devs on Discord!
During these hangouts, we answer your questions and generally vibe together while working on elements of the game, with our most recent featuring CGs and 3D sculpting!
We’re currently working on organizing a number of different activities, including coloring contests, Steam gift card giveaways, and more!
Be sure to check out our future live streams if you want to see WIPs of art like our new game covers for Unmasked Truths: Shattered Dreams, as well as 3D and other work as they’re created in real-time!We can’t wait to meet you!
Last but not least, our company, SuperPROTEIN Studios Inc. now has its very own logo!
We think it looks super cute, perfect for a game developer working on a murder mystery game!
(Which reminds me… Lee Dae Hyun mentioned something about SuperPROTEIN being his #1 sponsor, didn’t he…?)
