Howdy everyone,
When I started working on Percolator, I knew I wanted it to be a card game. As an adult, some of the popular card games (Hearthstone, Slay the Spire, Dominion, Pokemon, and Magic the Gathering to some extent) have been the games that have really stuck in my mind.
In some aspects, they feel like the ultimate version of being able to customize your build. Some games have skill trees for your character, but in card games, you get to pick every card that determines your "character". There is so much flexibility in trying new builds, playing crazy combo oriented decks, playing value focused decks, or whatever else you want really.
Each deck feels so personal, and when you are able to pilot it to a crazy victory, there is just something incredibly fun about that.
