Green gases swirl around the Typhon Reach. In the dark, dilapidated and dank hull of a long-abandoned ship, something lingers…
Wildgate’s first seasonal event, Hallowed Beyond, arrives October 23 and runs through November 6 — this one isn’t for the faint of heart!
INTRODUCING: HALLOWED BEYOND
Across the Accord, Hallowed Beyond marks a night where the living honor the lost with light, color, and fantastic food! Once a solemn ritual to appease the dead, it has since evolved into a vibrant celebration of remembrance. Homes glow with bioluminescent art as people gather, painted and costumed, to celebrate and commemorate together. Every offering, every outfit, carries a blessing for those who’ve passed; particularly for the soldiers who gave their life in the recent 100 Year War, and those still here to remember them.
ALL HALLOWS IN THE HANGERS
Denizens of the Lucky Docks have joined the party, dressing up the hangers for the occasion and even renaming some of their ships in spooky and seasonal ways! Good humor and bad puns may abound. Rumor has it that out in the Reach, some of the creatures calling it home have decked out their dwellings, too.
Recent probe scans have picked up eerie clouds and strange wrecks emerging from thick mists. The superstitious might say that the universe itself is reacting to some unseen power…
In the Reach, however, it could just be another Tuesday. Watch out for things lurking in the fog - particularly if they’re firing an Entropy Cannon.
WE CALL THEM FRANK
During Hallowed Beyond, old prospector tales speak of lost spirits roaming the Reach, searching for eternal rest. Step onboard a destroyed ship, and you might find a Legion Ghost waiting!
Frank isn’t impossible to exorcise, but they’ll soak up plenty of ammo before going down. Drop them, and you may earn some treats for your troubles…if you survive their welcoming party.
TRICKS AND TREATS
If you’d prefer to skip the spectres, Hallowed Crates can be found around the Reach for a limited time! You’ll notice them lurking in loot rooms with bioluminescent markings and eerie particles.
With 16 spooky items there for the taking, Hallowed Crates work exactly the same as Scrap Crates. Your entire crew gets credit for any Crate opened, whether they’re close to the crate or not.
Last, but by no means least, when you log in through the duration of Hallowed Beyond, make sure you log in before November 6th to receive a boo-tiful pumpkin firework surprise!
REACH DROPS: HALLOWED BEYOND
We've been adding new content to Wildgate and the Reach roughly every two weeks since launch as 'Reach Anomalies'. We've had feedback from you all both enjoying these regular updates, and also wanting more substantial updates perhaps on a slightly less regular basis. This time around, we've added new Reach Anomalies to Hallowed Beyond launching next week to try this on for size. Here's a sneak peak as to what will be new to the Reach next Thursday!
Crystals:
In the wake of billowing green nebulae, strange crystals have begun appearing in the Reach. Academy researchers have discovered some unusual properties — when refined in standard ship processors, these crystals emit an energy pulse that appears to spread through a ship’s hull, reinforcing it as it travels.
In terms that Ion could understand: each mined crystal put into your ship processor permanently increases your ship’s max hit points!
Vampire Hardpoint:
This succulent hardpoint feeds upon the souls of dead ships, slowly leeching health to heal your ship while within a short distance. Don’t touch the fangs.
Barrier Turbine:
Thanks to new prototype Millkoh technology (Sal was bored), some turbines have been souped up with some extra shielding! Prospectors are immune to cosmic storm, shock-field and fire while using these handheld terrors. Fly responsibly.
Racing Booster:
Gotta go fast(er)? If you’re looking for a bigger and longer boost, strap one of these to your ship - just control the resulting thrust a bit better than Adrian does.
BEHIND THE VEIL - PATCH NOTE PREVIEW
As part of our Hallowed Beyond event, we’re also including a patch with some community-requested features, bug fixes, small balance changes and quality of life updates.
Full details will be shared in the patch notes on October 23 (here’s looking at you, Attack Drone and Impact Can!) Until then, here’s a quick highlight to tide you over.
Loadout Swapping in Lucky Docks!
You’ve been asking for this one for a while, and it’s going to be in Wildgate from Hallowed Beyond!
When you’re in the Lucky Docks, you can now pull up your main menu, hit ‘Edit Loadout’, and tweak your gear to your heart’s content.
PHANTOM OF THE DOCK-PERA
Last but by no means least, we’ve given the Store a refresh, including some new and much-requested skins! Here’s the rotation for the two weeks of Hallowed Beyond.
FRIGHT AND FLIGHT
As the green mists roll in and lanterns flicker across the Lucky Docks, the Reach feels stranger and more mysterious than ever. Between haunted hulls, cursed crates, and eerie new tech from beyond, every run is a gamble with the unknown. Whether you’re chasing Hallowed Crates, testing new hardpoints, or just showing off your bioluminescent best, one thing’s certain: no one escapes the Hallowed Beyond unchanged.
Steel your nerves, light your path with fireworks, and dive into the mists when Hallowed Beyond arrives October 23!
