There is something about the murk of the PlayStation 1 that lent itself to horror. Limited polygon counts and CPU power translated to searing neon lights and gaping darkness. It was hard to see and the flickers of pixels and CRT scan lines tricked your eye into seeing things that weren't there. It's no wonder that survival horror mainstays like Resident Evil and Silent Hill made their debut on the PlayStation. Upcoming game Ghost Sector seeks to bring that aesthetic back in force, in a blurry and dark sci-fi world which conjures Metal Gear Solid and Deus Ex.
