Patch Notes - Early Access v.4
Major Patch Features
- New map - Yamai Village
- This is our second major Siege game mode map. This map is one of the first maps and our new benchmark for having the map change as points get scored and team’s win/lose objectives.
- Revamped Combat
- We’ve re-worked our melee combat animations to have a mix of weight and input fluidity where in the past they either had one or the other.
- We moved to clientside hit detection with server validation rather than outright serverside hit detection (significant improvement to hit accuracy and feel).
- Turn in place animations added so feet don’t slide while rotating in place.
- Better/punchier audio design to make hits more obvious and enjoyable.
- Heavy stance attacks no longer “steal/disable” movement during the wind-up and recovery portions.
- Item Store
- We will start with weapon skins for now and slowly expand as our artist’s free up from other art priorities.
- Revamped End of Match Experience
- Previously matches ended abruptly, the instant the “win condition” was met and you’d be presented with a MVP screen.
- End of match Victory Cinematics now exist for both teams that matches the map’s story and game theme.
- Afterwards, players can arrow between MVP screen, scoreboard and a new account progression/personal stats screen.
- Improved Game Mode Messaging and Feedback
- We introduced the smoke trail path to help player’s find objectives easier.
- Minimap improvements.
- Fixes to messaging for late joiners/team switches.
- Improved alerts for all game modes, especially Siege and Assassination.
- Revamped Combat Feedback
- Death has been completely revised to offer ragdolls, better audio design and overall be more “satisfying” to players.
- Block/parrying has been re-worked to be more useful and balanced.
- Damage numbers for you local interactions with other players (you hitting someone and someone hitting you).
Bug Fixes/Stability Improvements
- Fixes to dozens of different client and server crashes.
- Fixes to many basic attacks doing double damage or no damage.
- Fixes to Ite abilities not firing or wasting cooldowns very frequently.
- Fixes to static/idle corpses being left on the battlefield in the dozens per match.
- Various performance improvements in gameplay/UI code.
Polish/Miscellaneous Improvements
- Significant visual improvements to Gifu Crossroads.
- Battle mode now gives players free camera when their team has 0 tickets.
- Various UI improvements and color changes for readability vs. EAv.3 UI

- Added blue outlines to friendlies to further distinguish friendly from enemy regardless of character textures.
