Interstellar Sentinel 2 really started to feel alive this year. (Play the level 1 updated demo!)
Steam Next Fest put the demo in front of more players, but the bigger thing was seeing what happened when serious shmup players and score chasers got their hands on it. They did not just play the demo once and move on. They started testing it, routing it, pushing it, and showing us where the game’s real depth was starting to show.

One of the biggest moments for us was Steam Next Fest. It gave IS2 a much wider stage, but more importantly, it got the demo in front of the kinds of players who immediately started digging into the systems. Once super players and score chasers got their hands on it, they started testing the game in ways casual players never would, and that gave us a much clearer read on what was already working and what was being pushed harder than ever.
That was where a lot of the systems-level thinking in IS2 started getting properly stress-tested, from how the mechanics held up under pressure to how much room there was for routing, optimization, and deeper play. Some of those players took what was basically a 10-minute demo and turned it into a dozen hours of play, which told us a lot about the game’s ceiling and how much depth people were already finding in it.
Getting the game seen is one thing. Getting it in front of the right players is another. Super players do not just validate whether something feels fun at a surface level; they show you whether your systems are actually worth learning, pushing, and optimizing.
That stretch also gave us some really memorable moments around the demo itself, including the excitement of seeing players chase scores, trade feedback, and keep finding more reasons to stay with the build. That mattered a lot to us because it made IS2 feel less like something we were quietly building in the background and more like something players were already helping shape.

On top of that, Interstellar Sentinel 2 kept taking form through its characters, systems, and bosses, and Chris Huelsbeck’s return added even more energy to what the game is becoming. That made this whole stretch feel like more than just progress. It felt like momentum. Thank you to all our fans for being part of the journey and crafting the experience through early playtesting. If your reading this come join in on the fun!
