As this is Caromble! Friday #360 that means that apparently we have completed a full circle. In a month in will have been a year since we have launched Caromble! on Steam Early Access, so maybe it is time for a bit of reflection.
Early Access is a great temporary platform for Caromble!. We have been able to show the game to new players, detect bugs, try out new features and levels and connect to the bud that will hopefully soon grow into a blossoming community. We are really happy to have parts of the game available to the public, incrementally adding content as we develop it.
That was the good stuff, the bad stuff is that we have not been able to keep up with our intended pace. We had hoped to be able to release a new chapter every month (!) and complete the game early 2016. We could mention a plethora of reasons for not completing the game yet, but in the end it all boils down to one thing. Poor planning, and a bit of internal denial to acknowledge to ourselves that working only 1 day a week means all progress is slow.
Slow progress does by no means mean that we have come to a standstill. Slowly but steadily we are trudging towards the release of chapter 3. And instead of promising a date, we would like to ask you a question:
In the future, would you rather have us release a single level at a time and have faster iterations, or instead release a whole chapter at once?
Answers in the comments please!!
