This update adds a single save slot so you can complete the demo over multiple sessions, and it makes the handcart a lot friendlier to work with. Derailing is no longer a soft lock!
Controls for the handcart have been reworked to feel more like operating the real mechanism. Hold on to the handle like you would grab anything else and use the primary movement up/down buttons to move the handle up or down. Keep in mind the cart is modeled with an eccentric cam. This means that pressing up has the opposite effect every other stroke. Alternate your input in coordination with the handle.
Other than bug fixes, this will be the last demo update for a while. I need to focus on the next phase of development. Thank you to everyone who took time to share their experience! The response to this weird train game has vastly exceeded my expectations. Thanks largely to your feedback, I feel that the game is on solid footing. I look forward to being able to present the next evolution of the experience!
Also, Top Hat :)

Changes
- New handcart control scheme.
- Kick the cart to rail it when it's close.
- Save game
- Hat
- Native Linux build
Bug Fixes
- Removed all non keyboard/gamepad input devices. May help with unusual control behavior.
- Kick power increased slightly, makes it more consistent to knock a tie over sitting on it's side.
- Optimized foliage meshes, reduced scene geometry by about 20%.
- Grabbing the handcart is way less glitchy.
- Grabbing the spike barrel is less glitchy, same bug.
- Fixes a grounded calculation that caused dropping things when walking over a rail. This makes it reasonable to position a rail while holding it from the end and standing on the previous rail.
- Third pass on friction tuning, handcart is reasonably draggable again.
- You SHULDNT be able to fall out of bounds anymore, again.
- Target Framerate dropdown missing from navigation order
- Settings menu options, consistent spacing. Sorry, I'm kerning blind.
- Right and Crouch keyboard binding will work as expected.
- Unstucking while driving the hand cart will will no longer allow you to control it remotely.
- The breakable rail stops will now burn
- Ties will now burn
- Barrels will now burn
- Fixed an edge case when looking away from a carriable with another closer carriable focused
- Prevent grabbing a spike while grabbing the barrel, a common miss-click when intending to grab a spike.
- Prevent grabbing the barrel once a spike grab has been started.
- Preventing pausing while loading.
- Prevent nails from embedding in other nails.
- Hide mouse indicator on pause menu.
