A new Defense System (Break Shields) has been added as an extra layer of strategy during combat.
This system does not replace or modify the existing combat mechanics: the game plays exactly as before, with this feature acting as an optional strategic addition.
⚔️ Defense System
The Defense System affects both enemies and allies.
Defenses act as an additional tactical resource, separate from HP.
The original combat flow remains unchanged.
⚔️ Skill Interaction
Single Target damage skills can reduce Defenses.
To reduce Defenses, damage must exceed 150 % (for example, by exploiting a weakness or landing a critical hit).
Each successful trigger reduces 1 Defense.
Area-of-effect (AoE) skills do not reduce Defenses.
💥 Defense Break
When all Defenses are lost, the target enters the Break state.
Break paralyzes the target for 1 turn.
The Break state is removed when the target takes damage, keeping combat pacing intact.
✨ Defense Recovery
Enemies cannot recover Defenses during combat.
Allies can restore Defenses through specific abilities.
Amuneth, the party’s healer, has a dedicated skill that restores 1 Defense to an ally.
Defenses cannot be restored while the target is in the Break state.
🎯 Design & Balance
The system adds an extra layer of planning without altering core mechanics.
Encourages focus targeting and smart support usage.
Combat feels the same as before, with additional strategic options.
