We are excited to present one of the most comprehensive updates to Tales of Miravia so far. This patch brings deep improvements to performance, gameplay, visuals, systems, and overall stability, while laying stronger foundations for the future of the project.
Below you will find a detailed breakdown of everything included in this update.
⚙️ Performance & Engine Improvements
🔧 Global performance optimizations across all systems for a more stable and consistent experience.
🚀 Updated the game’s graphics engine to the latest available version, improving stability, compatibility, and visual fidelity.
⚡ Significantly faster startup times, both when launching the game and when beginning a new playthrough.
📦 Slight reduction of the game’s total download size thanks to improved resource management.
🎮 Gameplay & System Enhancements
🧭 Completely overhauled player movement: smoother, more responsive, and fully omnidirectional for better control.
🎥 Removed the camera zoom feature, as it was redundant and added no functional benefit.
🌟 Global rebalancing of flash intensity effects, allowing us to remove the “Limit Flashes” option from the settings menu.
🎁 Simplified the starting gacha: fewer attempts, but significantly better and more meaningful rewards.
🌀 The NPC Umbral now appears in more locations throughout the world, allowing players to freely change difficulty at any time.
🗡️ Removed difficulty selection from the start of the game to deepen Umbral’s role and create a more organic progression system.
🌌 Content & World Design
🗑️ The Dimension of Chance and the NPC Jovian have been removed, as their implementation did not meet the design and narrative standards planned for the final vision.
🛠️ New content is planned to replace these systems, expanding exploration, gameplay variety, and story depth.
🌍 General adjustments to mapping, environmental consistency, and world-building for a more cohesive game world.
🐞 Bug Fixes
🧹 Fixed visual issues affecting tutorial backgrounds and certain UI elements.
📍 Corrected multiple map-related problems including collisions, misplaced tiles, and interactable elements.
🧩 Cleaned up various minor inconsistencies that impacted overall playability.
🐞 Fixed a crash that occurred when entering battles.
🎵 Visual & Audio Improvements
🎚️ Complete overhaul of the visual equalizer: improved aesthetics, smoother performance, and clearer effects.
🎶 The equalizer now appears exclusively during battles, enhancing the musical atmosphere where it has the most impact.
💻 Platform & Compatibility Notes
🐧 The native Linux version has been officially discontinued due to incompatibilities with Steam. The game launches manually from its folder on Linux, but Steam cannot launch it, making the version non-viable.
❌ A Proton-based version is also not feasible due to compatibility issues between Proton and Electron, combined with the same Steam-launch problem.
⛔ As a result, no Linux build will be offered for the time being.
