Hello captains,
We're on the last stretch for wrapping up this beta now, so expect mostly balance and bugfixes after this. And as always, keep the reports and feedback coming.
Also we hope you enjoy the addition that comes with the Darkspacers story. :)
Update availability
This update is still under active development. As such, it is only available if you switch to the beta branch of Vanguard Galaxy to test out these new changes. Instruction on how to install the beta updates can be found at the bottom of this post.
Added/Changes
- Added a warning when trying to travel with a carrier while fighters are underequipped. It will check for reactor, engine, scanner and at least one equipped hardpoint
- Added some Darkspace missions to wrap up this sector
- Added some more descriptions to the Ship Upgrade window in the dry dock
- Changed the milestone unlock requirements for hull upgrades
- Patrol POIs will now persist while the player stays in them after the waves for that POI finished, removed the timeout for choosing to go to the next POI and continue the Patrol. The portals properly persist through save and load now
- Jumpgatepasses and Claims are now data. Jumpgatepasses also work differently, they no longer are jettisoned, the gate scans the ship and unlocks if the jumpgate is present. The jumpgatepass is deleted on successful unlock. All existing jumpgate passes in your inventories should now be in the data tab
- Added some extra filter buttons to the different inventories, they will be improved in usability and visuals later
Balance
- Increased Escalation difficulty from tier 4 onwards, and added a player resistance debuff
- Boss Aspects are now able to be added to all combat turrets
Fixes
- Fix for salvage missions that require a mission item, this mission type wont spawn new wrecks as the mission item can always be retrieved
- Fixed issue with damage calculation in some rare cases (mostly noticeable on new game)
- Fixed missions stuck at having to talk to umbral without a character there to speak to
- Fixed Clean Sweep not triggering on drone or fighter last hit
Cheers,
Bat Roost Games
Enable the beta version
Make sure to keep an old save game when switching to the beta, just in case. We always make sure that your save games will keep working, but as long as the beta is ahead of the release, the beta save game won't work on the release version until it catches up.
To take part go to Manage and select Properties for Vanguard Galaxy in Steam:
And select the open-beta under Game Versions & Betas as shown below.
