This week, we completed the implementation of Steam Workshop skin mods while continuing to improve game performance, save stability, and the leaderboard system.
Here is a look at what we've been working on recently.
Steam Workshop Skin Mods
With this update, we've added support for Skin Mods.
Players can now use custom PNG images to replace the portraits of player skins and enemies. These mods are purely visual and will not affect any stats or game balance.
The system currently supports:
Replacing player skin portraits with custom PNG images
Replacing enemy portraits with custom PNG images
Local mod testing by placing mod folders in WorkshopSkins/
Steam Workshop subscriptions, with subscribed mods automatically downloaded and applied when launching the game
For players interested in creating their own mods, we've also included a Player Upload Guide in the game directory. It contains the complete skinId / enemyId list as well as a manifest.json template to help with creating and uploading mods.
The Steam Workshop is now open:

We can't wait to see what kind of skins and enemy appearances everyone comes up with!
Performance & Stability
This week, we also continued improving the game's performance and stability:
Optimized resource loading and caching during scene transitions to reduce stuttering and memory usage
Fixed an issue where map data could occasionally be overwritten when loading a save, causing some data to appear as default values
Fixed race condition issues affecting certain Addressables asynchronous loading processes
Added automatic resource cache cleanup when available memory is low
Leaderboards
We've also made some improvements to the global leaderboard:
Optimized leaderboard queries for faster loading and reduced data usage
Adjusted the leaderboard display limit to Top 50
Other Improvements
We've also fixed and improved several other areas:
Improved synchronization between Steam achievement progress and local save data, ensuring achievement progress can be correctly reflected even when the full game and Demo use different App IDs
Fixed text corruption caused by encoding issues in certain scripts
Thank you, as always, for your continued support!
We'll continue working on new content and further improvements. We also hope the new Workshop feature will give everyone more freedom to customize their experience.
If you create any interesting skin mods, feel free to share them with us on the Workshop or in the community. We're excited to see what everyone does with the characters and enemies!
