Yeehaw, it's Release Day!
Check out our trailer to get a look at what you can expect from this game:
What is American Cooking Simulator about?
American Cooking Simulator is a combination of a First Person Shooter and a Cooking Simulator - as an underpaid employee in training at Joe's Freedom Burgers, your job is to prepare burgers and deliver them to your customers. But this is America, so of course your only kitchen utensils are firearms. Good luck trying to figure out how to cook with those!
After each shift, you will be rated for your performance, which determines whether you will be hired by the end of the week. And to add to the pressure, your boss Joe Hannes will scream at you for any mistakes you make in the kitchen, so better be fast, efficient and precise, no matter how chaotic the kitchen gets!
What's next?
Some background first of all: American Cooking Simulator is a student project which was developed from October 2024 up until now, February 2025 (that is, if you don't count in the very first prototype that was created during the GGJ 2024!). That means we are operating on a negative budget (since the game is free, but we still had to pay the Steam fee, of course), and since we are not taking money for the game, it is not feasible for any of us to continue working on it as we need to continue with our studies. Therefore, while we will of course take care of major bugs or issues you might encounter, but please do not expect any major content updates.
However.
There is a possibility that American Cooking Simulator can be developed for the length of another semester in the context of our studies. If that happens, there will definitely be major updates throughout the course of April until approximately August. But we currently cannot guarantee that this will happen, so for now, we hope you like the game as it is! We will update you at the beginning of April when we know more.
Thank you!
For now, we want to sincerely thank everyone who's already wishlisted ACS so far, we never expected to gain so much traction with our silly little student project! We hope we can live up to your expectations and that you'll enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed making it. If you encounter any major bugs or issues, please don't be afraid to write an email to us via [email protected]
Now get out there and cook some burgers!
