Hello everyone!
Meet the unscheduled update for the Knight's Errand demo version. Last week, I found out that players from China couldn’t access the server to upload their armies or download others’. So, this week, the game has been switched to a different backend. I hope this resolves all issues for everyone. However, if you enter a battle and there are no enemy units, please let me know!
Other changes in this patch:
- The initiative system has been reworked. Units are now strictly divided by initiative level. This change aims to enhance the tactical aspect of unit selection during a player’s turn.
- Unit levels have been replaced with rarity. This change is intended to encourage players to think more about specific units as a whole, rather than just buying the highest-level ones.
- Alongside the introduction of rarity, the shop generation system has been revamped. The shop’s assortment should now be more diverse and fair. This isn’t the final version, and I’ll continue refining this aspect based on feedback.
- The internal unit naming system is now much more reliable. This ensures that players’ armies will be preserved between patches, regardless of changes to the project’s structure.
- All buttons with V and X icons have been replaced with context-appropriate words. This is meant to make the game interface more intuitive.
AI behavior changes:
- AI units no longer stand still, even if they can’t find a direct path to their target.
- AI units use defense less often and move the maximum distance more frequently.
Bug fixes:
- The unit stats screen is now always centered on the screen.
- A player’s unit no longer skips its turn if there are no free cells around for movement.
- Ranged attacks now work correctly when the target is surrounded.
Add the game to your wishlists, try the demo, and share your thoughts in comments and reviews.
