Thanks for your interest in Kuu. An adjacent announcement: Our debut game, Sub-Verge, has just dropped. It’s a cousin to Kuu, made by the same team. A smaller, submerged narrative puzzle, where you’ve got to talk your way out of a bubble-submarine. Before you get eaten. By an eldritch horror. From a poisoned sea.
We wanted to make a game where the story itself was key to the puzzle, and the more deeply you understand the characters, the further you can go. Once we sunk into the world of Sub-Verge, we discovered all sorts of strange life, and we hope that exploring the depth of character and world brings you as much pleasure as it did to us in creating them.
The launch is part of the LudoNarraCon festival, where there are other fantastic games on offer. We’re bundled with Herald, and a LudoNarraCon classic, In Other Waters, from the mind behind Citizen Sleeper.
Speaking of... today also marks the release of Subtle Mind; a prequel novella to Sub-Verge, exploring the events that led to the game’s deep-sea mystery. If you're into the world and want to go deeper, this is your vehicle.
The Sub-Verge page is now hosting Raygan and Laura from the Short Game Podcast, our favorite podcast, for a special review stream of the game. But we want to know what you think, just as much. We are a small, sad studio. If you want to uplift our mood on launch day, review Sub-Verge on Steam, it makes a big difference for our small, sad studio.
We’ll return sometime with Kuu news,
Until then,
Interactive Tragedy, Limited.
