Zap Colony Demo is now live here on Steam and you can jump right in to defend your colony from the ever-growing numbers of Starclops!
If you’re new here: Zap Colony is a minimalist strategy game best described as “Mini Motorways meets Tower Defense” - a mix of route planning and resource management, all happening in a randomly growing, real-time colony defense simulation (with active pause).
This demo comes after a very helpful playtest period, and I’ve already implemented a lot of improvements based on your feedback, including:
tutorial / onboarding improvements
UI improvements
balance changes
streamer-friendly options (the game can now keep running, with audio, when it loses focus)
What’s included in the demo?
The demo currently includes:
Windows version only (for now)
2 playable maps and 3 unlockable Allies in Normal mode
English and Polish language support (more languages coming soon)
I still need your feedback (very much!)
Zap Colony is still in active development, and even though the playtests helped a lot, I still hope to get more feedback to improve the game before release. If you play the demo, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your thoughts on gameplay feel / balance, tutorial clarity, UI readability, any performance / bugs / weird issues.
When you exit the game, you’ll see a link to a short feedback survey. You can also post feedback in the comments here on Steam.
