Hello everyone!
We're extremely excited to release the latest update to Dice With Death. Thank you all for your patience while we've been working on this. We never want to be the type of Early Access developers who go silent for long periods of time - but we had to put minor updates on the backburner to work on this one, hopefully you find it worth it! Just a quick reminder, if you want to chat with us and the community come join the Discord! You can find a link on the games Store page.
There is a lot in this update. Most importantly - we've added the second game mode. Let's take a look at what Eternity Mode is. This is an enormous update with a lot of new functionality - we'll be actively bug fixing in the coming days, so thank you to everyone who reports them!

Eternity Mode
Since the Next Fest Demo, one of the top requests we've received is for an "endless" game mode. We've gone through a few iterations of what it can look like, until we settled on Eternity Mode and we're finally ready to share it. After playing the game a little, you'll have enough of the new Unlock currency Obols to unlock Eternity Mode from the new Obol Shop! (To be clear, this is a purely gameplay/unlock system, there is no intention to ever add mtx or anything using any in game currency.)

In Eternity Mode, you face the challenge of defeating Death within 6 Turns every round. Eternity is intended to be the ultimate "mad scientist" mode, so Death will not hit back... at least not in his usual way. You'll be the only one taking the Turns, but Death's Patience is not infinite, and every time you Roll the Dice you will take Damage that scales up every Round, so Defence can pay off as well as Offence!
But, we wouldn't just throw you into an endless race against the Clock with no new toys to bring to the table. In addition to unlocking the new mode in the Obols Shop, you can also unlock special Eternity versions of the existing Relics. We're launching Eternity Mode with 70 Upgradeable Eternity Relics and Dice able to be unlocked - we plan to add more in the future, this is merely the launch set.

But wait Mr Sea Glass you said "Upgradeable" Relics? Well that's right, almost every Eternity Relic is upgradeable throughout the course of a run in Eternity Mode. You'll find after certain Rounds, rather than choosing a new Relic, you'll be able to Upgrade one of your existing Eternity Relics. These Relics can escalate to some pretty wild behaviours, so get experimenting and have fun. Looted Icon can roll 12 reinforcements on your turn Turn so uh, that's my recommendation.

It's worth saying that Eternity Mode represents the biggest content we've ever added. Including their upgrades, there's around 200 versions of new Relics going into the game. That means there will be bugs, there will be balancing chaos, but in a way... that's kind of the point (more so the balance chaos than the bugs but still).
Multiplayer Leaderboards
Eternity Mode is really fun, we think so at least anyway. Know what makes it even more fun? Some friendly (or not) competition! We see people sharing the craziest rolls, rounds and runs with us daily, and it inspired us to add a more "living" element to the game. We've created leaderboards that will track Global Rankings in Eternity Mode!
The reality is, we don't want to balance every character to being the exact same. That's boring. So in the interest of competition and being free to play your favourite (it's the Witch), the primary leaderboards will focus on Character Specific rankings! Don't worry about the Healer's unchecked poison rampages in Eternity Mode, because you're compared against your fellow Witches/Soldiers/Adventurers. (wait who is the Adventurer?!) There is a combined Leaderboard where you'll be able to see your absolute best run and it's comparison to others also!
Continue Run
One of the other top requests we've got for a long time is the ability to continue your run. Well, there isn't much to write about this one other than now you can continue your run! If you quit out, close the game because your boss is about to walk behind you or otherwise, you can now pick up where you left off upon reopening the game.
It's worth saying a couple of specifics - to avoid save scumming (boo) and protect the competitive integrity of Eternity Mode (yay) continue run is not available in Eternity Mode. Additionally, it will restart you from the beginning of the Round you made it up to in Standard.
Other Changes & Bug Notice
This is a huge patch, so many bugs reported over the last month have been squished. They'll probably be outweighed by the bugs introduced with a whole new game mode, but still. We've also buffed some Relics that were a little tricky to use previously, including adjustments to the Spears and a huge buff to Lucky Bullet. There's too many minor changes to list here so jump in and get exploring!
Cheers,
Connagh & Joel
