Today, I toyed around with improvements to the Alternative Floor UI. For those who don't know, this is an alternative floor-building option that was actually the original building UI. I changed the game over to a new default construction system a while back to conserve screen real-estate, but I am now tempted to remove it, because I believe most people find it more confusing and less convenient.
New updates to the Alternative Floor UI include an icon representing the number of rows a floor requires, "ghost" entries for floors that you cannot afford yet (so that you can see what is needed to make them available), a red highlight on floors that are blocked by the floor that you are hovering over, and expanded tooltips that display what a floor will offer and lead to, if you build it. I actually have a couple more improvements planned for the UI, but these required more overhaul than I had expected, because it is such an old element in the game, so the rest will wait for another time.
What do you all think? Should I revert to the original floor UI or carry these improvements over to the current default? Give it a try and let me know your thoughts =)!
