We are planning to release a patch that fixes issues with co-op mode tomorrow. To help you progress through the story with your friends, we have prepared a devblog dedicated to one of the key elements of the game — activating ancient temples.
While traveling across the galaxy, you will come across ancient temples that can help you in your quest to defeat the Red Darkness. But discovering a temple is only half the job — you’ll also need to find a way to activate it.
The first thing you need to do is to locate four nearby towers. Each one has a light generator, which must be directed toward the temple. Sometimes, you’ll need to move or rotate the beacon. While other times, the beam might already be positioned correctly, but obstacles like trees or rocks could be blocking the way. Use your extractor to clear the path. If the beam turns white, you’ve done it right.
Once all four beams are properly aligned, you’ll need to use the key on the shrine at the top of the temple. If you don’t have one, search for a similar-looking building on the same planet, but slightly smaller. It’s usually guarded by pirates. Defeat them to gain access, open the chest inside, and retrieve the key.
Now you're ready to activate the temple. This allows you to speak with the temple’s guardians and craft tools to cleanse the Red Darkness. Progressing through these steps early on is crucial to your journey — so don’t wait too long.
We hope this guide helps you move forward in the story of Cubic Odyssey and overcome the Red Darkness. See you in the cubic galaxy!
