With release just a week away, I've got one last preview for you! This time, I'll share a little bit about some of the abilities you'll unlock as you progress in the game. When you first step into the city, you'll be armed with only your trusty torch to guide you, but hidden away in the ruins are various relics that will augment your light with new and exciting powers. There are four in total (or was it five..?) for you to find, each one unlocking new paths forward and revealing new secrets hiding in places you've already been.
I wouldn't want to spoil everything, but I can give you some insight into the first two abilities you'll unlock!
The Brass Charm

The ruins of Artahk are heavily overgrown, twisted vines and unnatural trees completely overpowering the skeletal remains of the city. You'll be troubled by one type of overgrowth in particular: Dense vines sporting cyan flowers that seem to block your path again and again. This is where the brass charm comes in!
With its power augmenting your torch, the flame will burn in a bright cyan hue, and where its light shines those vines will wither and recede. All sorts of new possibilities will open up to you, and be sure to use a keen eye as you explore—those vines aren't the only plants that will react!
The Blinding Totem
Many of the puzzles you'll face within the city revolve around light, but your torch alone can only carry you so far. With the blinding totem at your disposal, you can push past the limits of the dim light it casts around you! Exposed to your flame, the totem creates a bright flash that fills the screen, pushing back the darkness for a short time and spreading your light as far as you can see. Useful for lighting distant lanterns, and perhaps sneaking past a blinded guardian unseen.
I wonder what might happen if these two abilities were combined..?
I'll leave that for you to discover, along with the remaining two relics! I'll give you just a little teaser: One will allow you to reach places no physical body could go, and the other will reveal a whole new world of secrets hidden right under your nose...
Till sunrise comes at last,
Bismuth Tales
