Hey folks! We’re coming at ya with another open beta and this time we are doing it with the Human Qube folks as we participate in the No Time to Loot festival! On the menu we have new classes, a new “Boss Rush” mode, new gun archetypes, updated guns, new bosses and more! You’ll have access for a whole week starting today until September 29th! So excited for you all to see what we’ve been cooking up! If you’re interested you can read a more in depth look at our updates below!

New Classes
The community has been asking for Classes for a long time and we are proud to say that we have three out of the four planned classes available to test in this upcoming playtest. Each of the classes will now have their own dedicated Echo path and items to make the gameplay of each feel more unique.
Tank: A slow moving class with high health that allows the use of the taunt ability so that enemies follow and direct attacks at it instead of it’s allies.
Disruptor: A fast moving class with low health that allows players to add debuffs and status effects to enemies.
Support: Another fast moving class that allows players to regenerate health and stamina more quickly while also providing buffs like doing more damage or moving more quickly.
Active Item Updates and Additions
For a while the only active item that folks really used was Medical Spa, but with our new class system we have created several new ones whose abilities synergize with their class. These 8 new active items items will be able to be used by everyone but their reach and duration increase as you make your way up each class’s Echo tree. We have also tuned how Medical Spa works so that you no longer get an instant heal upon use, but instead receive a heal over time effect.
Hint: Best way to find these is by defeating our updated world events.
Boss Rush Shards
You’ve been asking for a while now for a better method to grind for exotics and items on specific bosses, and we’re giving you that with our new Boss Rush Shards. Now, when you defeat a T10 Corruption Boss, you’ll receive a T10 Corruption Shard for another random dungeon (like usual). But you’ll also receive a T1 Corruption Shard for that same dungeon with the Boss Rush mutation. With this mutation, as you scale up the ladder from T1 to T10, you’ll continue to receive a shard for the same dungeon, until you complete T10, at which point you will not receive a shard.
What this means is that if you are able to defeat a dungeon at T10, you can replay that dungeon 10 times, getting 10 chances at boss-specific loot for that dungeon as you climb the ladder. That should give a lot more opportunities to get that specific exotic item or class item you’re after!
Reduced Gun Archetypes
Previously, we had 11 gun archetypes in the game, but the feedback from you all helped us realize there is too much overlap between archetypes, which makes a few of them less valuable. We’ve pared it down to 6 gun archetypes in an attempt to make each viable for different situations and play styles.
Primary Type: With medium to fast reload speeds and the ability to do consistent damage, we are thinking players will consider using these options in the first gun slot.
Handguns: Long ranged weapons with high powered single or double bullet projectiles (replaces blasters, pistols and revolvers).
Shotguns: Short ranged weapons that focus on maximizing its projectile spread by getting up close and personal with enemies ensuring as many of its projectiles hit as possible.
Automatics: Mid ranged weapons with high fire speed where players try to mow down players (replaces assault rifles and smgs).
Secondary Type: High damage weapons with passive reload – we are thinking these are weapons players will consider using in the 2nd and 3rd gun slots.
Explosive Launchers: Very powerful short ranged guns with large bullet projectiles with passive reload.
Lasers: Very powerful piercing mid-ranged laser streams (no longer have to pause movement when shooting).
Long Ranged Rifles: Very powerful piercing long ranged guns with fast moving projectiles.
Gun Updates
We have been listening to your feedback on our guns. From making legendary and exotic weapons more viable, to new sprites, we have attempted to make positive upgrades on many fronts.
Community Bosses
France and Anthoney have created two new bosses for the game and they will be ready to test in this upcoming Beta! Like the original Dark Hunter, the entrances to these boss rooms will drop randomly in T10 zones in the Overworld. By defeating them, you can receive a T20 Shard for the boss to take it on the highest level.
Harbinger of Storms: Created by AntHoney and designed for late game. A difficulty comparison would probably be between the two hunter bosses (potentially harder than Young Hunter but potentially easier than the Dark Hunter).
Idrae: Created by France as the most difficult boss in the game thus far!
We’ve spread some fun exotics onto these bosses, and there are also unique pets to earn as well as Achievements and Titles. So go and challenge yourself to see if you can beat the toughest test the community has to offer thus far!
Updated World Events
In our last Beta not many folks interacted with our world events due to bugs and lack of unique loot for beating them. We are proud to say the bugs have been fixed and running world events is likely the most effective way to quickly find the new class items in the game!
