Thank you so much to everyone playing the game already! Support has been absolutely overwhelming!
Clearly the game is still Early Access but I am going to be able to be a lot more productive now with so much support!
The BIGGEST issue right now is that some users are reporting a controller detected on Linux when none is connected. This changes how the prompts are displayed, which makes it impossible to play. In the meantime, if you are unable to get past the OPEN EYES screen, please press Left Alt + Right Alt simultaneously, a proven workaround.
The updates are planned to be completed by next Saturday, including:
A bug fix for this that
Gives the correct prompts.
Detects LMB + RMB on Linux 100% of the time.
A complete remake of the tutorial level including a built-in calibration test that was stupidly removed, to make it easier to control the camera.
More cutscenes and choices because yes.
Voice Acting for every single language is going to take a bit more than a week, but it's a Work In Progress. Thankyou for your continued patience, your instant support, and for every single bug reported to make this a better play experience.
If you do have any negative feedback that you don't want to be in a review for some reason (just a polite person) here is a 7 day discord link that will send your feedback directly to the scrum board: https://discord.gg/DX6B7s7q
Not much else to say. Happy holidays!
Um yeah. Gotta get back to work now. Because of the really annoying, hair-pulling, frustrating, no-good, lousy bug.
Edit 3/12
Thankyou for your feedback! Bug was narrowed down to be a specific software error, the mouse input is being read but not for this specific "Open Eyes" action. And the alternative keys are being read.
So there has been an ultimate fix implemented
:
If dual-clicking does not work, an override system will run to confirm if input is being read.
If there is no input (hardware issue) alternative keys will be displayer
If there is input (software issue) icons will appear on the screen to confirm input is being read.
If there is repetitive input, (input system issue) an override system will control dual-clicking instead.
To reinforce dual-clicking working, the input system has been modified to work without the override system.
Other changes include difficulty scaling, automated sensitivity adjusting (look at the glowing ball), animations (new and changes), disabling volume gain over 0, canvas rescaling, controller redetection to fix Linux ghost controller detection, and minor bug fixes.
Current goal is to reform the tutorial level to actually teach the controls. Because the only strategy is spamming attack right now.
But after the focus will be on releasing all new content.
Why no press kit? Because Blue Inc is not actively inviting inquiries. Yes it would be nice to boost immediate sales, but developing content for the public is an effort that is more beneficial in the mid-long term.
Why no steam key? As helpful as reviews would be, there is a scammer epidemic going on. The majority of requests have hit the spam filter. And as the main focus right now is conversions over traffic, steam keys are being reserved indefinitely, and all efforts are being focused on developing as much content as possible.
When next playtest session? The last session generated a grand total of 0 responses. Feedback has been 100% staff and game owners. So there is no confirmed date yet but more information will be given after 34 more sign ups.
