Raiders Rise – Sprint 4 Dev Update
Hi everyone, welcome back to another sprint update for Raiders Rise! Every two weeks we share our progress, and this sprint was packed with big steps across systems, characters, and levels. Let’s dive into the highlights:
🧠 Meta & Core Systems
- Mission Progression Revamp Backend and frontend improvements made to mission progression, plus internal testing of the Battle Pass prototype.
- Reconnection System First version is in! If a player disconnects, a bot temporarily takes control until they return - making matches smoother even with connection drops.
- Victory Screen Iteration A working version is in place, but we’re still figuring out how to properly display characters and their skins without visual overlap. One proposed fix is cropping each character's screen space to avoid clutter.
- Duo Chests These new chests require two players to open - either teammates or opponents. Strategic and cooperative!
- Expanded Emotes
- 9 total slots: 5 for team, 4 for public emotes
- Fully functional with controllers
- Cancel input added
- (Control scheme still being polished)

🧑🚀 Characters & Creatures
- Jak Receiving new weapon options, including a shotgun. Her updated model is in blockout and uses a liquid shader for more dynamic visuals.
- Nikky Our new electric trap specialist is in early development. Their gameplay is focused on area control and surprise traps.
- Maya Preliminary model and weapon are finalized and looking slick. Animation improvements are also underway.
- Bee Enemies We’ve created three evolution stages for this new enemy type - they’re deadly and cute.
- Animation Work
- Final tweaks for Atabusk
- Character-specific polish for Jerar and Maya

🌍 Levels, Props & Biomes
- Planet 1 - Level 2 Playable. We’re working on signs, city props, and biome 2 assets.
- Destructible Elements We prototyped breakable barriers, tested in a sandbox scenario. Players will soon get some nice visual feedback on these destructable elements!
- New Door Mechanics
Multiple door types in testing - including drop-down doors with improved clarity and performance.
