Hi everyone!
Update #13 is now live! This update introduces a brand-new Quest Journal, a redesigned storage system, the Drone Hub, major genetics changes, new wild plants, Steam Deck improvements, and much more.
Here’s everything included in the update:
New Features
- Quest Journal. A new Journal tab has been added to the tablet. Quests are now organized by acts and chapters, with active and completed quests displayed separately within each act.
- You can track up to three quests at once. Selecting a fourth quest will replace the oldest tracked side quest, and the game will notify you when this happens.
- Only tracked quests are now displayed on the HUD and marked in the world.
- The Journal can be navigated using a mouse, keyboard, or gamepad. Use LT/RT to switch between chapters.
- Quest Banners. A banner now appears whenever you receive or complete a quest. New quests are displayed one at a time and will no longer interrupt cutscenes.
- Drone Hub. Drone Stations now feature a dedicated management screen displaying the station’s storage, assigned drones, used memory, and active drone skills.
- Drone skills can be enabled or disabled separately for each station.
- The entire Drone Hub interface can be controlled using a gamepad or keyboard.
- Redesigned Storage. Added item search, item quantities on tabs, and an indicator showing the number of available slots.
- Empty storage now provides helpful instructions.
- The storage window automatically closes after the final item is removed.
- Guide. The Plant Guide and Encyclopedia have been combined into a single Guide tab.
- Articles are now organized by category and include step-by-step advice and warnings about plant problems. Newly unlocked articles are clearly marked.
- Pressing E while looking at a plant with a problem opens the Guide directly to the relevant article.
- New Genetics System. Every plant now has its own unique gene, which can be extracted using the Genetics Lab.
- Some genes can only be unlocked through story progression.
- Genetic Points now have a maximum limit and can no longer be accumulated indefinitely.
- Genes earned from quests are now awarded through a new system.
- Planter Add-ons. Planters now have dedicated slots for add-ons, which can be installed through the plant selection screen.
- Planters from existing saves will automatically receive add-on slots when the save is loaded.
- Steam Deck Improvements. The Steam keyboard now opens automatically when entering text, including storage searches and save names.
- Gamepad prompts no longer disappear after using the trackpad.
- Text on cards, tooltips, and in the Guide is now larger.
- The warning board is now easier to read on smaller screens.
- Added a new UI Scale setting that increases the size of menus, tooltips, and all in-game text.
Quests
- Added a new early-game questline: Setting Up for Success.
- Added a missing letter to the shop-unlocking questline.
- Fixed the description and icon for the Delicious Bonus perk. Composting biomass now also rewards a bag of fertilizer.
- The “Enable Drone Care” objective is now completed as soon as drone care is enabled for a planter.
- The Auto Farm quest now begins when the door to the third room is unlocked.
- Improved the Quest Journal and quest banners with cleaner layouts, better spacing, adjusted text sizes, and new appearance animations.
World, Plants & Gathering
- Added 10 new wild plants to the atrium and rooftop, each with its own unique gene.
- Biomass bags left in the world are now removed at the end of each day.
- Fixed biomass behavior when dropped.
- Pots, heaters, and fans can now be collected into your inventory and moved between the rooftop and the apartment.
- A delivery drone now appears near the parcel terminal after the Code Green shop is unlocked.
- Pollination warnings now update correctly.
- Upgraded planters once again provide their intended bonuses.
- Rebalanced prices, planters, and several plants, including cabbage, hot peppers, and lettuce.
- Updated hunter and plant status icons.
Drones
- Idle drones now automatically find a new task.
- Drones now fly directly to the appropriate station or display case instead of heading toward the center of the room.
- Drone Stations that disappeared from some save files have been restored.
- Fixed performance drops in kitchens containing both Chef and Ninja drones.
Cooking, Trading & Achievements
- Cooking now continues overnight, but new dishes cannot be started after 11 PM.
- Improved the item list in the Trading Hub.
- Flower-related achievements are now awarded correctly again.
Saves & Stability
- Attempting to open a save created in a newer version of the game will now prompt you to update the game instead of risking damage to the save file.
- Fixed crashes related to the tool wheel, moving items, and painting.
- The game no longer stores outdated logs and crash reports indefinitely.
Localization
- All new content has been translated into every supported language, including the Quest Journal, Drone Hub, storage interface, genes, new quests, letter, and perk.
- Wild plant names, cooking categories, measurement units, and gene names are now displayed in the selected game language.
- The Drone Care tooltip now displays the correct button prompt: X / LB.
