Greetings, Steam community! Today is a very special day for Apamate Studio, as we can finally present Animas, our new video game. Prepare to immerse yourself in a unique psychological horror experience set in the mysterious mountains of Venezuela.
For those familiar with our work on Mechanophagia, let us share that Animas represents a new chapter for our studio. While Mechanophagia was our first project – born as a learning prototype and developed with great care over a year – with Animas, we wanted to explore different horizons. As a growing studio, we're excited to experiment and gradually define our identity as creators.
With Animas, we set two main goals. First, to channel our prior artistic experience in film and animation into creating a game with a strong narrative and visual component. We leveraged our 3D modeling and animation expertise to build an immersive, unsettling atmosphere. Second, we wanted to deeply connect with our cultural roots. As Venezuelans, we felt motivated to contribute our perspective to the gaming industry – a field where we believe representation of our culture remains scarce.
Stay tuned, as in the coming weeks and months we'll share many more details about Animas. To avoid missing updates, add Animas to your wishlist! This way, you'll receive direct notifications about the demo release and other important news (we have very exciting plans for the demo, so keep an eye out!).
Finally, if you'd like to directly support Animas' development and help bring this project to life, consider checking out Mechanophagia. It's our first game, and while it's very different from Animas and perhaps more modest in scale, we hold it dear. If you enjoy discovering indie studios' early works and want to support our journey, Mechanophagia could be a great way to do so.
