About the Update
Ahoy Night Mariners,
I want to share some of the new changes added with this update, as well as a few things planned for upcoming updates.
Some of the content mentioned here may change, improve or be added differently in future updates. I will share more details as bigger changes arrive.
Lighting Improvements
I made some adjustments to the in-game lighting. My goal is to make the atmosphere stronger and improve visibility, especially at night, in caves and around island areas.
Some of the lights under the ship are currently disabled for a new system I am testing. You will understand what this is about in a very soon update.
New Danger During Sea Travel
A new danger has been added while traveling long distances with the ship.
When you see it, remember to change your route.
UI and Model Updates
I made several updates to the UI and some models. I want the in-game UI language and style to feel more consistent, so I have started changing UI elements that look strange or do not fit the atmosphere of the game. I will continue improving them over time.
New Cave Creature
A new creature has been added to the caves.
Be careful where you step while exploring.
Market System, Money System and New Items
The market system has been added, and some market items have been prepared.
Eye patches have also been added to the game. Random eye patches from the market can give you abilities that may help either you or your teammates. For now, there is one eye patch feature I was able to test, and I plan to add more variety very soon.
The money system is team-based. Money is earned together and spent together through the shared team balance. This way, the resources collected by players will help the whole crew.
Ship Item Carrying System
The ship item carrying system has been updated.
Carrying and placing items on the ship should now feel clearer and more useful.
Hide UI Button
A hide UI button has been added for players who want to take screenshots in-game.
You can now press F1 to hide the game UI and take cleaner screenshots.
New Island Variants
For now, I changed the visual types of the main islands and added more environmental details.
Other island types are also on the way. I plan to add them with future updates.
Note: In the future, I want players to explore not only scary caves, but also scary islands. That is why I am already preparing the foundation for more island variety.
I wanted to release this update a little earlier. I plan to add more content frequently in the near future to make the game more varied.
Thank you for playing Nightmariners, sharing your feedback and supporting the development process.
