About Upcoming Updates
Ahoy Night Mariners,
I want to share some of the systems and content I’m planning to add to Nightmariners in the upcoming updates.
First, I’m planning to improve the loot system in caves. Players will be able to collect loot and use it to improve themselves, their equipment, or their ship. For this, I will add a market system and an equipment system.
For now, I’m planning to build the equipment system around eye patches. These equipment upgrades may include features like a lantern, speaker, and other useful tools. This way, equipment will not only be visual, but also affect gameplay.
I’m also planning to add a combat system for the new creatures I want to bring into the game. I want players to have more options when they encounter creatures, and I want those encounters to feel more meaningful.
Right now, players mostly travel to one type of island and return to one type of main island. I want to make this more varied. Soon, I plan to add several new island types to increase the feeling of exploration and mission variety.
You may have noticed some empty areas on the ships. I plan to add new systems and interactions to make those areas more useful. Some items sold in the market will also be used to upgrade your ship or raft. For example, you might place a harpoon in the middle of the raft and use it to pull items.
I will also improve the ship’s movement and sea motion. My goal is to make sailing feel more alive, more noticeable, and more enjoyable.
I’m also planning general lighting improvements. I want to improve the atmosphere by adjusting scene lighting, the day/night feeling, and the visibility of darker areas.
UI elements and some models will also be improved. Some parts are still temporary, and I will replace them over time with versions that fit Nightmariners better.
Most of these updates are planned to arrive within 1 or 2 days. Some systems may come later depending on testing.
Thank you for playing Nightmariners and supporting the development process.
