Hello Night Mariners,
I’m currently working on an update that I plan to release later today or within the next few hours. With this update, there will be some important changes and new systems added to the core flow of the game.
First of all, instead of instantly teleporting between islands, players will now travel by ship. After selecting a mission, the destination island will be determined and a route will be created for players to follow. This should make the transition between missions feel more natural and more fitting for the atmosphere of the game.
Since sea travel will now take longer, I’m also planning to add a few new interactions and mechanics to the ship so the journey feels more engaging. I’m currently testing a few different systems, and whichever ones feel the most stable and enjoyable will be added to the game.
I have also added wind / booster areas on the sea to make sailing feel less linear. When the ship passes through these areas, it will move faster than normal for a short time. My goal with this system is to make sea travel feel a bit more dynamic and enjoyable.
I’m also updating the cave generation system. As you progress through the game, caves and sea journeys will become more difficult depending on the number of Cores you have collected. Creatures, obstacles and different dangers will gradually increase.
In addition, I’m planning to add a lantern that the character can carry. This should be especially useful in dark caves and during the night atmosphere.
The market system is another feature I’m currently working on. I’m not sure yet if it will be ready for this update, but the general idea is to collect gold from chests and other items found in caves, aside from the Core, and use it for shopping. Once the system has been tested properly, I’ll add it to the game.
When the update is released, I’ll share a more detailed post about all the changes.
Thank you for playing the game, sharing your feedback and supporting the development process.
