So first things first, let's get the bad news out of the way.
-Saves are different: I'm making moves to make it so that the demo save can move over to the full game. Unfortunately, this means that the previous demo saves aren't compatible because I'm saving chests and collectibles differently.
-Release date: No guarantees but I definitely can't get the game to a state I'm happy with selling by December 2026.I will announce a new release date when testing and polish are all that's left. I'm still learning and I apologize if this disappoints anyone who wanted to jump in December.
Now for the incredible amount of good news!
+ Float nerfed: Jump and speed are dialed in even further! I got the schmovin to feel as good as possible and still be compatible with the current level design. It feels much better based off feedback I've gotten so hopefully it's at a good point.
+Artstyle update: I commissioned Lurian for promotional artwork on the Steampage. How this effects the game is that I liked his artstyle so much I decided to update Memo and EVERYTHING to look better. At the end it's subjective whether its better but I think the Faketendo art is a lot closer to how I imagine it in my head.
+Saving Upgrades: Rather than losing all upgrades collected upon death, opening a chest or learning a new spell/ability now saves the game automatically. No more scrambling to backtrack and redo all your progress.
+Level design changes: You can now find 4 of the hidden Choir Mice throughout the demo. I also moved the double jump out of the shop and into the Chateau. I also tweaked many challenges.
+Cutscene: To ensure you save and activate the save mirrors for fast travel you now have to interact with the save mirror before exploring the chateau.
+Funny voices for all characters. They now make funni sounds.
+Plenty more visuals, gameplay and quality of life updates. If people report any more issues, I will ofc update and tweak further.
Here's the new look of the souls you collect!
