Hello Thieves and Guardians! 🏰💰
Greetings again! We've been hard at work since our last Devlog, and we decided that now is the right time to bring you an update with our second development log! Here’s what we’ve been working on:
✅ What’s New?
- We are continuing to improve our first map, the Palace. A new Cellar room has been added.
- The lighting in the map has been reworked, with smoother color transitions and major optimizations.
- The number of interactive objects in the map has increased, and stealable items have been placed.
- Escape hatches have been added to specific locations on the map. (Details will be revealed later!) In certain situations, these hatches will activate, giving thieves an additional escape route.
- Animations for interactive objects such as doors, chests, cabinets, and drawers have been adjusted and placed in the map.
- Extra doors have been added to rooms to improve game flow. Now, every room (except the Treasure Room) has two entry/exit points.
- An NPC named "Lavuk The Smuggler" has been added, where players can sell stolen items.
- Character animations have been improved.
- Sound effects have been updated.
- Main menu and lobby scenes have been set up, with further improvements ongoing.
- Multiplayer infrastructure has been strengthened to ensure a smoother experience.
⚒️ What Are We Working On?
- Placing stealable items in all rooms of the map.
- Adding a dungeon to the map to increase variety.
- UI improvements for the game.
- Working on a crouch animation, allowing thieves to hide while crouching.
- Exploring new optimization techniques.
- Designing new roles that won’t disrupt game balance.
⌛ What’s Next?
- Adding floating leaves and environmental effects to enhance immersion—but we’re evaluating their impact on optimization.
- Developing a trade mechanic with an angel for players who trust their luck.
- Implementing a sabotage mechanic to prevent thieves from being camped by the guardian.
- Connecting the escape hatch system with in-game mechanics.
That’s all we have to share for now! If you’d like to see some of these updates in action, check out our latest Devlog on Instagram.
