Most automation games have some form of processing:
Iron ore becomes iron plates. Rocks become bricks. Coal keeps the fire burning.
But in MoteMancer, we don't need coal.
We have Salt. And we have Aether.
Today’s topic: the catalysts that power your alchemy.
🧂 Salt and the Foundation of Matter
In MoteMancer, Salt isn’t just something you dig out of the ground — it’s the residue of elemental persistence.
Water, Earth, and Shadow Motes can be ground into Salt.
These Motes anchor themselves to the world, sinking deep, condensing into crystals that stabilize your earliest tools and constructs.
Salt becomes the catalyst that sculpts the world's foundation into usable forms — and the backbone of your journey.
💨 Aether and the Breath of Change
Where Salt is weighty and tangible, Aether is the light that dances between moments.
Life, Fire, and Air Motes can be drawn into Aether — distilled from raw vitality, flame, and breath. Aether is not mined or harvested; it is coaxed, captured, and refined.
It floats. It weaves. It binds. And with it, you’ll unlock the secrets of harnessing elemental forces beyond the material world.
🔮 Catalysts, Choices, and Evolution
Every Mote Field you encounter is a living decision.
Will you grind the Motes into Salt and use them to strengthen your structures?
Or will you draw their essence into Aether, enabling deeper transmutations?
And the Motes themselves, when bound to their neighboring catalyst, become fully formed, unlocking their true elemental nature.
Your relationship to the land will evolve as you do. Some planes are rich in Motes that favor Salt, others in Motes that sing with Aether — and learning to read the world around you is key to survival, expansion, and discovery.
And when Salt and Aether finally combine?
They form Salt Prisms — crystalline keys that power all research, advancement, and exploration of the unknown.
This is the heart of MoteMancer’s alchemy: a living, breathing puzzle, shaped by your choices and the world's whispering secrets.
Thanks for reading! We'll be back next Monday with another MoteMancer Musing.
Until then, may your Salt shine bright and your Aether flow free. ✨
