We have a big new demo (1.1.0) for Unsound Love out now! :D
It’s packed with new things, made from a combination of your feedback on our first demo and the plans we already had for the game.
Just to mention a few of the new things:
A brand-new intro sequence, which we think is one of the coolest things we’ve made in a long time!
New, unique creatures to encounter (maybe one of them is based on Maria’s dad... can you guess which one?)
Lots of new sound and audio (Astrid has made some crazy stuff – we love her)
The demo now saves your progress, so you can close it and continue where you left off later (a big request from several of you!)
We’ve generally worked on shaping the world and its landscapes into something better (John is proud of this!)
Searched for, found, and fixed bugs (while listening to Loudness’ Bug Killer)
New key art by Qistina Khalidah (you may have noticed our new Steam capsules?)
Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback and reported the bugs you’ve encountered. You’ve been a huge help in making Unsound Love better! And thanks for the Steam Reviews of the DEMO! It helps the game a lot to be seen by new players.
Unsound Love is meant to be a mysterious game where you get to figure out things at your own pace as you investigate a non-linear world. A game where there are multiple ways to make your way through it.
From a design perspective, it’s much easier to turn down the mystery than it is to turn it up based on your experiences playing the game. So, we decided to turn the mystery all the way up and gradually adjust it from there, until we reach the experience we want to give you.
We’ve gathered all the feedback we could, watched hours and hours of videos of you playing the demo, and used all of that to make decisions about where we need to add a few more hints and details. The goal is to create a fair and fun challenge where nothing is simply handed to you.
Since the last demo, we’ve also been working on quite a lot of content beyond the point where the current demo ends. So, things are moving along nicely as we work towards making Unsound Love into the game we want it to be.
We’re starting to actually see and feel the game we’ve been dreaming of making! :D
We’re super excited to see and hear what you think about the new demo!
- John (writer/game designer), Maria (visual artist), Astrid (composer/audio), Brice (double bassist), and our new guitarist, Adel.
(All of the sound in the game is created using musical instruments, which is why more than half of our team are musicians.)
