What’s rockin’ Metalheads? The time for change is upon us! We are excited to announce that we are heading into Open Beta January 31st, 2017!! This means that the PVP servers will be open 24/7 and a beta key is not required for activation of the game on the Steam client. [yeaaaah] We have a few new features for the Open Beta we think everyone is going to enjoy, so let’s get to it!
This update comes with great features to increase the hype. Thanks to your community feedback, we have modified the life bar to be more noticeable and legible during game play. This will help in knowing how much health everyone in the arena has. Each full health bar is 100 hit points. This is especially great for Support types, since they are the ones supplying all the heals and those Interceptors playing the defensive role.
Speaking of Support type characters, we are proud to announce that we have a new character!! Going by the name of Photon in the arena, Iris [the pilot] has a wide range of healing capabilities. If you and your teammates like to strategize your moves and create an impenetrable wall of destruction, she is your girl – having the Passive ability to phase through her allies, healing them, she can make or break a win. She is definitely a clutch player and should not be underestimated.
We are very excited to announce that you will be able to connect with your team like never before with our newest feature, Voice Chat. This awesome new feature allows you to communicate with your teammates without the use of external software – all you need to do is set a key to toggle your mic and speak, that’s it! This is a great way to plan a strategic move with your team or simply notify your teammates when your ultimate is ready.
During our closed beta duration, Heavy Metal Machines recently gained a North American audience in late 2016, making it an international game! We are proud to welcome the newest country to join the HMM family, Russia! We are happy to announce that Heavy Metal Machines is now 100% localized to the Russian language. Welcome Russian players!!
In light of all these rad additions, we want our newest players to have access to information regarding the game – at any time. We have added a Game Guide to the Main Menu of the game for those players who have become stuck; from the most basic “how to move your car” to in-depth knowledge about droppers and goals. This is a place where you, the player, can learn everything about Heavy Metal Machines game play. To find what you need help with, just choose from the topic list. This information is available to new and old players, just select from the Main Menu.
We want to take the time to that each and every player that has hung out with us during our Closed Beta phase. We have taken your suggestions into consideration and are working diligently to have this game meet your expectations and beyond. We are excited to see you all dominate the arena with your friends and family.
Thanks for being a Metalhead!
We’ll see YOU in the arena. \m/
